Danny Bernstein Backyard Sports

Enter Backyard Sports, established in 2005 to replace the wrong kind of competitive attitude with true self-confidence and athletic development through community team sports for children of all ages in Westchester County. Its nonprofit arm, Backyard Sports Cares (BYSC), has served more than 2,500 children with little access to such teams, including those with special needs.

On Thursday, Nov. 21, Backyard Sports Cares will host the organization’s second biennial gala at Willow Ridge Country Club in Harrison. Longtime board members Michael Moser and David Shuster will be honored at the event for their contributions and dedication to Backyard Sports Cares’ mission.

“For nearly 15 years, Backyard Sports Cares has been helping Westchester youth explore and celebrate their strength through sports,” said Danny Bernstein, fellow founder and executive director of Backyard Sports Cares. “Mike and Dave have been outstanding role models and leaders for the organization. It is a privilege to honor them.”

Besides the awards ceremony, the event (from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.) will include cocktails and dinner, a raffle and a “Fund A Need” presentation.
